Fields of Activity of Harim Sazeh Sepahan:

Harim Sazeh Sepahan started its activity in 2006 (1385 in the Iranian calendar) in the field of industrial structure design. After extensive studies, in 2008 (1387) — coinciding with the Year of Innovation and Prosperity — it completed the large-scale “Sooleh Pardaz” software project (the first specialized software for designing industrial sheds in Iran). After registering the software in May 2009 (Ordibehesht 1388), the company has attracted the attention of many industrial structure design and construction companies (both private and governmental).

The company consists of five independent units: design and calculation, supervision and implementation (civil engineering), market development, research and development, and administrative-financial and human resources. Currently, the group uses the most advanced equipment and software and benefits from experienced personnel aligned with international standards, holding a significant share in the development and industrial construction of the country.

  • Designing and implementing industrial, metal, spatial frame, and truss structures.

Sooleh Pardaz – Automatic Industrial Shed Design Software:

Sooleh Pardaz is a powerful software dedicated to the analysis and design of industrial sheds. It is the only software in the world specialized for this task. The software can analyze and design multi-bay sheds with varying bay widths, sheds with subsidiary bays, sheds with curved roofs, and single-slope sheds. Additionally, it can analyze and design sheds with intermediate floors and central columns.

With this software, you can quickly and accurately obtain design files optimized for minimal steel plate waste, along with execution drawings and calculation booklets, all within less than an hour. Sooleh Pardaz draws detailed execution drawings in AutoCAD and performs manual checks on members and details in the calculation booklet. The latest version of the software includes a 3D model export feature for Tekla Structures.

One of the software’s highly practical features is the analysis and design of sheds equipped with cranes. Designing crane girders and crane beams is complex due to intricate relationships and challenging modeling. Precise modeling of crane girders and beams in SAP software requires significant expertise to resemble real conditions. Sooleh Pardaz, leveraging the experience of senior engineers and extensive research, automatically and accurately designs crane girders and beams when selected by the user.

Another important feature is the precise and very easy load application. Loads on sheds vary by region due to differences in snow, wind, and earthquake loads. In Sooleh Pardaz, by selecting the city where the shed will be located, the software automatically inputs relevant wind, snow, and earthquake load coefficients for that area and applies loads on the shed model with high accuracy.

Sooleh Pardaz analyzes and designs all shed components, so the user is almost completely free from manual or additional software tasks.

Software Inputs: span, height, length, roof slope, crane tonnage, roof covering load, distance between frames, wall and pedestal height, construction site characteristics (wind, snow, earthquake loads, allowable soil stress), etc.

Outputs:

The software starts with crane girder design. It proposes preliminary dimensions for the crane girder and beam, which the user can modify. The user enters thickness and width values for the flange and web plates and clicks to view results in seconds (the software checks bending and shear stresses, deflections, local buckling, and calculates girder weight). After several iterations, the user achieves the optimal design.

Next, the software designs crane beams similarly. Then, Sooleh Pardaz uses SAP software to automatically model the shed, apply loads per the Iranian code (Mabani 6) and seismic standard 2800, and perform design calculations. The user specifies flange and web dimensions for beams and columns, then with one click transfers these to SAP for member assignment. After 2D and 3D analysis and design, the results are reported to the user. Thus, the user can model a shed with two or three alternatives in minutes, compare weights and costs, and select the best design.

Additionally, Sooleh Pardaz includes an option to reduce steel plate waste. This means the user inputs standard plate dimensions available in the market, and the software accounts for minimizing plate wastage during design. A shed design with the lowest weight may not always be optimal due to excessive plate waste. The designer must consider both lightness and minimal plate waste, which Sooleh Pardaz manages.

After shed design, the software designs other components and produces calculation booklets and drawings within seconds. These include connections, column base plates, shed foundations, braces, knee braces, purlins, roof and wall bracing, wind columns, local buckling checks, soil stress checks, uplift control, column footings, anchor bolts, and beam-to-beam and beam-to-column connections.

Generally, many shed components like braces, column footings, crane girders, and beams are designed manually through trial and error: the designer assumes an initial section size, verifies its adequacy, then adjusts up or down until reaching an optimal section. This trial-and-error process is very time-consuming and done manually with calculations on paper and calculators. Designers often start conservatively with high safety factors to reach acceptable solutions by the second attempt.

For example, designing crane girders (often done by experience rather than engineering design) or crane beams may take several hours for each trial.

Finally, after connection, footing, and base plate calculations and determining the optimal design, the software produces outputs including:

  • Calculation booklets in Word files,

  • Execution drawings in AutoCAD files, arranged as sheets,

  • Tekla output files.

Key Benefits of Using Sooleh Pardaz:

  • Increased safety level of shed designs due to reduced errors and accurate calculations.

  • Comprehensive and high-quality design enabling shed construction exactly as planned (including detailed shop drawings for beams, columns, and even crane girders).

  • Significant time savings in industrial project design.

  • Prevention of material and resource waste (steel, concrete, etc.), reducing construction costs and preserving national resources.

  • Ability to estimate materials and costs, reducing project risks by clarifying required resources and preventing disputes between clients and contractors.

Target Market:

  • Civil engineers,

  • Factory builders,

  • Engineering offices,

  • Construction consulting companies,

  • And generally anyone needing industrial structure design and construction.

Similar Products:

Domestic: There are similar software products related to concrete and other structures, but currently, there is no software in Iran specialized in industrial shed design and optimization like Sooleh Pardaz.

International:

  1. SAP and Tekla: Tekla does not perform design but is used for drafting, with licenses costing 20,000 to 30,000 euros. Cracked versions cannot do design. SAP2000 is widely used for primary structure design but has limitations: SAP designs only the main structure, while foundations, connections, braces, and cranes must be designed manually.

Sooleh Pardaz integrates SAP automatically, modeling and loading the shed per Iran’s code 2800 and section six, and provides Tekla outputs.

  1. Microstran Limcon: Software for analyzing and checking lattice towers and steel members, offering 2D and 3D design and analysis. It supports various load types and can output CAD drawings. However, it does not design the main shed structure and uses outputs from other software.

  2. Space Gass: Designs steel structures, connections, bridges, tanks, stadiums, and buildings.

  3. Master Series (Lite Suite): Designs steel structures and connections with output files in Excel and Word.

These programs do not provide accurate estimates of materials and costs and are time-consuming with a high chance of errors, especially under new complex loading codes in Iran. Multiple valid designs can be created, but it is hard to judge the best in terms of minimal material use or plate waste.

Furthermore, these programs are not specialized for automatic multi-bay shed design, crane girders and beams, subsidiary bays, skylights, curved roofs, central columns, and mezzanine floors—manual design is complex and error-prone. Also, factors like snow loads, allowable soil stress, regional earthquake coefficients, wall thickness, roof type, construction city, pedestal height, earthquake settings, neighboring shed geometry, temperature conditions, allowable displacements, foundations, and footings are not considered in these software packages.

Given these limitations and the urgent need for a software to address them, this group developed Sooleh Pardaz, which designs all shed components with the highest quality and accuracy in less than one hour.
